From resource efficiency in our plants to reducing waste and emissions, Karex is taking steps to lower our environmental impact. This is an evolving journey, and we are working closely with our teams to continuously improve.

At our Hatyai manufacturing facility, Karex has begun integrating solar energy into our operations. This project reflects our commitment to renewable energy and reducing dependency on non-renewable sources.
In partnership with Levanta Renewables, a Southeast Asia–focused renewable energy platform, a 2.2 MWp solar photovoltaic system is being installed at our Hat Yai facility. The system is expected to be fully operational by Q1 CY2026.
Power operations with clean, renewable energy.
Offset significant greenhouse gas emissions annually.
Support Thailand’s national renewable energy roadmap.
Build a foundation for broader solar adoption across Karex facilities.
Over the next 15 years, the rooftop solar project is projected to generate 44 GWh of clean electricity — enough to produce more than a billion condoms using renewable energy.
This transition is anticipated to offset around 26,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. That is equivalent to:
Recognising the urgent need for long-term climate action, Karex is exploring a second phase of solar expansion at other Thai facilities, with additional rooftop space already identified. In parallel, we are also evaluating similar opportunities in Malaysia as part of our broader ESG journey.
